BAPTISM

Baptism
At Alleluia Lutheran Church, we believe Baptism is a precious gift from God—where He claims us as His own, forgives our sins, and brings us into His family. Through water and the Word, God creates saving faith and grants new life in Christ. Baptism is not just a symbolic act, but a powerful means of grace where God is actively at work in us.
Who Can Be Baptized?
Baptism is for people of all ages—infants, children, and adults. In the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS), we baptize infants because we believe God’s promise is for all and that He creates faith even in the youngest hearts.
What to Expect
Baptisms are typically celebrated during a worship service, allowing the congregation to witness and rejoice as the newly baptized is welcomed into God’s family.
Parents select sponsors (godparents), who play an important role in supporting the baptized in their life of faith—encouraging them in Christ and helping them remain connected to the life of the Church.
